Already committed

School Talks

The school had already raised the awareness of the critically endangered orangutans by adopting many baby orangutans through Orangutan Foundation International’s orangutan adoption program.

At the completion of their school talk, Loquat Valley’s teacher, Helen Nielsen, presented the students with their latest orangutan adoptions sharing with them the photos and short biography of each of their new additions.   These two new babys live at the care centre at Camp Leakey where Daniel and William visited in 2008 and where their book, “Tears In The Jungle”, was based.

The boys then stayed after the presentation to meet with students and sign their books. Daniel and William said they had a great time at Loquat Valley and that the kids already knew so much about the orangutans but really wanted to know things like, “how they felt?” and “were they soft?” and “what did they eat?”.

It was great day – thanks Loquat Valley !!  Keep up the great work !!
