Even in Fiji…

Their book has reached Fiji !!

Tears In The Jungle is being read in Kindergartens in Fiji which is absolutely fantastic news !!

We learned today that the plight of the orangutan, and their book, is inspiring children not only here in Australia but around the world.

The kindergarten teacher ‘Lo’ (pictured) and the children at the school were eager to look through the book and hear the boys’ story once they had received it.

We were advised that, as well as learning about orangutans, the local kindergarten teachers were able to use the book to provide important lessons demonstrating parallels between the deforestation in Borneo and local issues in Fiji on how the felling of trees exacerbates flooding as less rainfall is absorbed into the ground and erosion caused by lack of canopy silts up the rivers.
